Super person of the week: Bryan Lee O'Malley
Prior to Scott Pilgrim, O'Malley illustrated the Oni Press mini-series Hopeless Savages: Ground Zero, and published his first graphic novel Lost at Sea in 2003.

Tommy Kane's buildings illustrations
Tommy Kane is probably more well known for his advertising work, but what really blew me away when discovering his website the other day were his postcard-style coloured pencil drawings of buildings and cityscapes. Super nice style!

Andrew Fulton's take on other artists' comics
Andrew Fulton has been drawing various characters from comics he likes, and by the looks of it, he likes a lot of my favourite comics. So far he's got Brian Ralphy's Daybreak, David Mazzucchelli's Asterios Polyp, Chris Ware's Jimmy Corrigan, Neil Gaiman's Sandman, Matt Forsythe's Ojingogo, Jim Woodring's Frank and a little protrait of Scott Mccloud. Awesomeness!

Super person of the week: Paul Grist
I just only discovered Paul Grist a couple of months back and am now a big fan. He has had published work since the 80s, both in mainstream and small press publishers, but what is the most well known for are his tittles - the unorthodox superhero series Jack Staff and hard-boiled police series Kane, both of which he is the writer as well as the penciler and inker.

Marvel papercraft
Boxpunx is Jason Edward Harlan (aka Harlancore)'s papercraft site. There's tons of really good stuff there, but the marvel series are just TOO good. They can be viewed and downloaded here and here.

Super person of the week: Jeff Soto
Mixing graffiti influences with fine art and using toys, skateboarding, hip-hop and popular culture as inspiration, Jeff Soto is another big name in the whole lowbrow movement in California.
He's had numberless exhibitions and shows over the past years, and his some of his work's been compiled into a couple of books - Potato stamps (now sold out) and Storm Clouds.

Danny Zabbal
I have been meaning to post about Danny Zabbal for a while - He is the author of the weekly webcomic Journey in the Sixth Dimension and a freelance illustrator and cartoonist. His flickr set of oddball superheroes puts a smile on my face anyday.

3D pixel art
I'm loving the 3D pixel illustrations Metin Seven has been posting on LCS. He has a growing gallery of the images on his website, ranging from alternative Pixar movie posters and cartoon characters to classic 8-bit video games. Great stuff!!
